Every voice matters. Partner conversations help students share ideas and deepen learning. #WeAreDES

Our Dardenne Knights are busy learning sight words—and practicing everywhere, even in the halls thanks to our sight word bulletin board!

Twinning with your teacher? That's a win! #WeAreDES

Teacher feedback isn’t just about correcting—it’s about coaching. The right words at the right time can shape thinking, build confidence, and move learning forward.

Using manipulatives in math helps students make abstract concepts concrete. When students can see, touch, and move their thinking, understanding deepens, and learning sticks.

Our 5th graders went vertical today—and the learning went up with it! Using wall space to share thinking led to stronger conversations and better understanding. Love seeing students learn from each other!

2nd graders showing their math thinking using place value blocks—explaining, questioning, and learning from each other through rich conversation. #WeAreDES

Tuesday, December 16th, is Dine to Donate at Papa Johns. Don't forget to mention the school's promo code SSD when placing your order.

Don't underestimate the power of the simple whiteboard! It gives every student a voice to share their thinking, and gives the teacher a quick visual snapshot to assess understanding instantly. Engaging everyone, every time!

Why do student conversations matter? Because when students own the discussion, they own the learning. #KnightStrong

Love seeing this math collaboration! Our 5th graders worked together at the whiteboards to solve tough division problems. They are using their multiplication skills to decompose numbers and conquer complex math. Deep thinking in action!

A huge shout out to O'Fallon Christian Church for their generosity today! Gift Mart supported our families this holiday season!!

Our kindergarten mathematicians explored shapes—counting sides, finding vertices, and discovering how fun geometry can be! #KnightStrong

Fort Zumwalt School District recommends that all age-eligible children have a developmental screening, yearly, to assess progress in all areas of growth and development, including problem-solving, communication, personal/social-emotional development, motor skills, health, vision and hearing. You can make your December appointment now for students ages 3-years to Kindergarten to help them be ready for school. https://bit.ly/4ppN4Cz
