The school year is off to a great start!! Just a reminder that we will have our 7th and 8th grade Open House on Thursday. August 22nd from 6-7:30pm. This evening is for parents only. You can view your childs schedule on Focus, but feel free to grab a copy before the bell rings at 6pm, if you need. You will follow your students schedule for the evening. Bus riders: Please remember the ride home takes a bit longer the first few days as everyone gets used to their new routine. Our principals and Transportation Department will send updates as needed. Families should have received a text to help you find your bus stop and pick-up time. The link is also posted as an announcement when you log in to the new portal.

With our new Focus system, we realize some information has taken a little longer to be finalized. We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused, but appreciate your patience.
While on the Focus parent portal, the menu drop down for our new lunch system is called LunchTime. There, you can deposit funds online via credit card or inquire about a student's balance. If you need directions on this process, please visit the Student Nutrition section of the North Middle website or the Fort Zumwalt District website.
Another drop down on the parent portal is called Links, which will help you with transportation information.
We are excited to see everyone on August 19th and looking forward to an amazing school year.

Families should watch for an email regarding the launch of the new FZSD Family Portal by Focus School Software later this month.
The Fort Zumwalt School District is excited about the upcoming move to Focus School Software and the Family Portal app by Focus School Software. In the coming weeks, families will receive information regarding this system, which replaces the Tyler SIS student portal app families have used for several years. All annual back-to-school paperwork will be completed in our new system.
While the Focus website will always be available, the FZSD Family Portal App by Focus Software will be free for iphone or Android. This new, more user friendly app will allow families to verify student absences, so you won't always have to call school. It will also allow families to follow assignments and grades, link to meal accounts and email teachers.
Thank you for your patience as the district makes this transition. We know there will be growing pains, but we are excited about the improved experience this move will bring to families, students and staff.
Be sure to watch for our Back to School Headquarters the first week of July. We will have all the information you need for the new school year.
This is our last call to check the 23-24 lost & found for items. All items are at our 6th-grade entrance (near hwy 70) and any items not picked up by the end of Tuesday, June 4 will be donated.
As they wrapped up the school year, 6th and 7th graders at North Middle signed a beam that will be placed in the new addition while they are on summer break. They will see big changes when they return in August. You can learn more on the North Middle website. The two-story addition is scheduled to be complete by December.
Welcome to the last week of the 2023-2024 school year! Important things for families to do this week:
Check for and pay fines and fees in the parent portal. (Did you know the district currently has more than $80,000 in outstanding meal account payments?)
Pick up any prescription medications from the clinic.
Remember sunscreen and water if your student(s) celebrate Field Day.
Pack a disposable lunch bag if your student(s) pack lunch on the last day.
Schedule your student(s) to get their vaccinations updated if they will be in Kindergarten, 8th or 12th grade next fall so they are ready to return in August.

Our last day of school is 5/30 and it is an Early Release Day. Just a reminder that nothing will be permitted on the buses the last day. Any items left at school will need to be picked up at the front desk over the summer.

Friday, May 17th, the 7th graders will get to participate in Medieval Day. 7th graders can get dressed up. They can bring masks for the costume contest 5th hour, but cannot be worn during the day. Face paint is not permitted.
