Our students recently completed their first ELA unit after reading Small Steps: The Year I Got Polio. To celebrate their learning, students played Candy Land, a game originally created for children recovering from polio in the hospital. They also put their learning into action by creating thoughtful cards for children who are currently in the hospital. What a meaningful way to celebrate the end of a great first unit while showing kindness and compassion for others!
