Reading Week

Research shows that just 20 minutes of reading each day can expose children to millions of words each year, helping build vocabulary, comprehension, and a lifelong love of learning.

Dardenne Elementary will celebrate Reading Week from March 2–6 with a variety of activities designed to make reading fun and meaningful for students. Throughout the week, we will welcome mystery readers and enjoy special theme days that highlight the joy and importance of literacy.

Families can join the celebration at home by talking with their child about favorite books from when they were young and setting aside time each evening to read together. Sharing stories—both new and old—is a wonderful way to strengthen reading habits and create lasting memories.

We look forward to a week filled with great books, engaging surprises, and a shared love of reading!
