At Dardenne, we believe every student can become a strong reader. Each day, teachers spend time helping students build important reading skills using materials from the 95 Percent Group.
In grades K–2, students take part in fun, hands-on activities that help them hear and work with sounds in words. They practice blending and separating sounds and learn how letters and patterns work together to make words. Students build and read word chains and sort words by similar patterns to strengthen their understanding.
They also use what they’ve learned while reading short passages. Through partner reading, echo reading, and rereading, students practice reading smoothly and accurately.
