September's Leadership Day Highlights

On September 10th, Dardenne Elementary hosted our first Leadership Day of the 2025–26 school year. Leadership Day is a special time for us to focus on the 7 Habits and celebrate the many ways our students shine as leaders.

We began the day in Dardenne Families, where students from across grade levels joined together to set family agreements and participate in teambuilding activities. Next, we gathered for our Leadership Assembly, highlighting Habit 1: Be Proactive and the power of using proactive language instead of reactive language. We also recognized classrooms with our Golden Awards for excellence in art, music, technology, library, and P.E.

This year, we introduced a new award for the grade level with the highest average daily attendance. For August, 2nd grade led the way with an impressive 96.8% attendance rate!

After the assembly, students returned to their classrooms to update their leadership notebooks.

Later in the day, teachers met in teams to collaborate on supporting the academic and emotional needs of all learners.

It was an amazing day of growth, teamwork, and celebration at DES—we can’t wait for our next Leadership Day in October!
