What is a walk-a-thon?
The Dardenne Walkathon is a kid-powered fundraiser. On Wednesday, April 17th, during the day at Dardenne, kids will walk laps around our track. Back in the day, donors would pledge a certain amount for each lap the child walked. But that meant the child or family had to first collect the pledges and then go back to collect the donation. These days we just ask donors to give whatever amount they feel comfortable donating before the event. Then the Walkathon itself is just a fun celebration of their hard work!
Why are we doing a Walkathon?
The Walkathon will be our big fundraiser for the year. We are hoping to raise $5,000! The money raised will help with changing chalkboards to whiteboards, PTC-sponsored programs, and future improvements to our playground!
When are all Pledges due by?
Friday, 4/12, by the end of the day.
